🔴 Today, 24th July, Sam Altman, co-founder of OpenAI announced launching Worldcoin – revolutionary digital identity and financial network 💬👇
🔴 Worldcoin aims to solve possible future problems related to the development of AI. It especially focuses on the problem of “human” recognition in the world of highly developed AI systems where simply speaking – it will be really challenging to find out who is human and who is AI.
🔴 The heart of Worldcoin is WorldID – privacy-preserving digital identity issued to every human. Every person at the world will be able to own single digital identity which will be proved to be human identity. The technology is based on cryptography, especially on zero-knowledge-proofs. Identity will be possible to issue for everyone with the use of the futuristic device called Orb – utilizing biometric technologies. This device looks like a robotic camera which generates your unique, digital identity based on your biometric traits.
🔴 Owning a WorldID identity will allow to prove being being human in next generation AI-based Internet – to create “Proof of Personhood” using Worldcoin nomenclature. You will be able to generate digital, privacy preserving proofs of being human (for example from your smartphone) and use it in webpages, tools and applications integrating Worldcoin.
🔴 Worldcoin is based on various web3 and blockchain related concepts and technologies. WLD token is a Worldcoin governance token, currently issued on Ethereum. The goal of Worldcoin is to create largest ever DAO – the decentralized, blockchain token governed community. The majority of WLD tokens will be given to individuals – simply for being a unique human.
